Medical update on Bridget
We were in Denver on Monday, 9/15 at Children’s Hospital having one more round of tests run on Bridget for her urologist and then we saw him at his office Monday afternoon. The long and short of it is that he’s not happy we haven’t done anything in the past year, her right kidney doesn’t drain properly still (due to swelling?) and the left kidney suffers from reflux in the main ureter (remember, there are two on that side). So, he knows he wants to operate, but he’s not quite sure what all he’ll be doing. We go back to see him and have surgery scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving. Thank you all for praying for us and we’ll keep you posted! For now, Bridget is in great spirits and a real champ and it’s Mommy and Daddy who are taking this news the hardest (isn’t it always?).

Owen looking for solid ground
He’s a little roller! Owen loves to be on his belly more than anything else right now and holds his head up forever at a time. He’s also starting to babble “mamamamama” and have more of a voice instead of squeals or screams (he found his voice last weekend 9/13 in Denver). And, he had his first taste of solid food on Tuesday, 9/16! He always looks and watches so closely when people eat and did such a good job of eating the rice cereal, like a big boy! He really likes it, so now we’re back into the pattern of try a new food, stick with that for three days, try another new food, etc. He’s growing up faster than we can keep track!
